Egg donation is anonymous for both sides. You provide information about your identity and health conditions of you and your family. This information won’t be misused in any way, we hold the doctor patient confidentiality. Our patients have the right to choose a donor only based on criteria such as blood type, hair color, eye color and body type.
Egg donation is one of the possibilities of assisted reproduction, when the woman donates eggs to help a couple that can’t conceive using their own reproductive cells. There are many cases of couples being in this situation. Egg donation solves this problem.
Financial compensation for egg donors at Sanatorium Helios reflects average lost earnings and travel expenses. Each donor in entitled to a financial compensation if they follows these conditions:
- following the check-ups dates
- correct and on time application of stimulation medications
- the donor can’t donate repeatedly sooner than after 3 months (including at another clinic)
Financial compensation for donors is 36 000 CZK.
Who can donate?
Age 18-32
University or high school education with a school-leaving exam
Negative results from all mandatory tests (HIV 1 and 2, hepatitis B and C, syphilis and genetic testing)
Why become a donor?
You get valuable information about your overall and reproductive health (blood type, Rh factor, sexually transmitted diseases, hormone levels, ovarian reserve, serious genetic conditions).
The financial compensation for egg donors is 36 000 CZK.
For some couples, you may be their only chance to have a child.
The process of the donation

You will hear from our coordinator who will schedule an appointment with you and share all important information.

All legally required tests will be performed – genetic testing, screening for sexually transmitted diseases etc. In practice, this means one blood sampling and a consultation with a gynecologist and a geneticist.

If the results are normal you will be contacted by the coordinator again to arrange the following steps. The test results are available within a few weeks.

We will start hormonal stimulation as soon as you have a suitable recipient. You will pick up the stimulation preparations and the coordinator – nurse will explain their application to you.

As a donor, you will undergo controlled hormonal stimulation under medical supervision, a couple of blood samplings and an ultrasound. The dose of taken preparations is adjusted based on these examinations.

The donor programme coordinator is available through the whole process.

The stimulation ends with the egg retrieval (oocyte collection).
