The egg donation programme is intended for couples where the woman:
is unable to produce her own eggs, or produces a small number. This affects women with abnormal ovarian development affected by premature ovarian failure or older women going through menopause.

The sperm donation programme is intended for couples where the man:
is unable to produce a sufficient amount of sperm or high-quality sperm (e.g. pathological morphology, high fragmentation of sperm DNA) for both unknown reasons or as a result of genetic or development defects (e.g. undescended testicles), or suffering an illness in adulthood – e.g. mumps or diabetes.
has varicocele
does not have any sperm in the ejaculate
