Hello,
We are a couple, myself, Eve, female, aged 40 years and my husband, Jack, male, aged 39 years. We have been trying to have a successful pregnancy for more than three years now. In brief, since early 2015, we have had 3 IUI cycles and 8 IVF’s (6 with our own sperms and eggs, 7th with donor eggs, and last one with donor embryo’s). My AMH count is low, due to age and have possibly unicornuate uterus. My husband also has low sperm quality. Is it possible for me to achieve pregnancy at this stage? What is your recommendation?
We are resident of the USA and would like to know the possibility of success.
Thanks,
Eve
Dear Eve,
the answer to your question is not easy, it is necessary to know more about the results of all your examinations (hormonal profile, reproductive immunology, genetic examination of you and your partner, accurate sperm results and functional tests). The success also depends on the procedures of the center: How the stimulation has been performed, what are the quality standards of the embryological lab work, what are their results. It also depends on the timing of the transfer and the quality of the embryos, these all are the factors which make a crucial difference between the centers.
You will surely achieve pregnancy, but donated embryos are always the last option for us.
If you have documentation concerning previous procedures and the test results, you can send it to us and we can advise about how we would suggest the procedure.
But a personal consultation, possibly completing the examinations and possible solutions would certainly be a better way.
If you have any further questions, we will be happy to answer them.
Best regards
