For the first consultation with a specialist in infertility treatment, all you have to do is order it on the phone number +420 549 523 258, or via the contact form at the end of this page.At the first consultation, your doctor will recommend a basic examination based on your medical history and history:
Basic semen analysis
The basic semen analysis (spermiogram) will give you information especially about the concentration, motility and shape accuracy (morphology) of sperm. The Helios Sanatorium is free of charge and the results will always be explained to you in detail by a doctor – an IVF specialist. We recommend performing the spermiogram as one of the first examinations in case of an unsuccessful attempt to conceive, even after 6 months of regular sexual intercourse.
Woman’s hormonal profile findings
The determination of the hormonal profile it is ideal to be performed on the 3rd – 5th day of the woman’s cycle. For your greater convenience, it is advisable to time the order date correctly so that you can complete the blood collection and consultation in one day.
In the case of the hormonal profile, a comprehensive examination of the hormones is performed. AMH testing can also be performed to estimate the number of active eggs.
In cooperation with the AKI clinic, we perform a set of immunological examinations. Presence of antibodies, cellular immunity, celiac disease, zoonoses, NK cells, etc.
Genetic consultation and genetic testing
The initial examinations usually also include genetic tests of men and women – a karyotype, which gives an overview of human genetic equipment at the chromosome level. Alternatively, other tests recommended by the clinical geneticist (eg thrombophilic mutation, congenital blood clotting disorder). The results of these examinations are known within 4-6 weeks. Based on the genetic finding, it is possible to recommend PGT-M or PGT-A examination in the IVF cycle.
- Sperm function tests
The basic spermiogram is currently no longer found to be a valid examination of sperm quality. We always recommend supplementing the basic spermiogram with at least the DNA Integrity Test for Sperm, which, unlike the spermiogram, will give you information about the quality of genetic information inside the sperm. Sperm are highly susceptible to damage to nuclear DNA. In some cases, however, sperm with damaged DNA can fertilize an egg. The result of such fertilization is usually impaired development of the embryo to the cessation of development, in the case of pregnancy, a miscarriage may occur. In order to determine the best possible procedure for a particular pair, it is then appropriate to perform other functional tests of sperm.
