May intercourse endanger the embryo?

Hi,

how long after the frozen embryo transfer is it safe having sex with my partner? If the pregnancy is confirmed, could there be any danger for the embryo because of the sexual intercourse, or how long should we wait? Thank you.

Regards

Kate

Dear Mrs. Kate,

there is no unambiguous recommendation or “safe period” in which sexual intercourse does not cause any difficulty to be said with certainty. Also, the intensity of sexual intercourse is different for each couple. You can have sexual intercourse anytime during pregnancy since the embryotransfer until the birth of the baby (if the doctor does not specify otherwise) and should be gentle with regard to the ongoing pregnancy. If problems occur, it is advisable to seek medical attention.
