Hello, I would like to share our experience as a patient from abroad, from Italy. I hope this can help other couples.
When, after many years of unsuccessful attempts in Italy, my gynaecologist advised me to make a final attempt at a clinic in the Czech Republic, Sanatorium Helios, my husband and I looked each other in the eye and said ‘why not try?’
We got in touch with the contact person at Sanatorium Helios in Italy and met a professional, kind and caring person, who has now also become a friend and family member, who explained the various possibilities and their chances of success in a precise and timely manner.
As we were enthusiastic about the explanations we received, we decided to start this adventure, and so we had our first Skype interview with the coordinator, who spoke very good Italian, and the head doctor of the Clinic, who with great professionalism and patience answered all our questions and doubts, conveying optimism about the success of the course.
But we really realised we had made the right choice, despite the distance, when we arrived at the clinic, where we were welcomed with great professionalism and kindness by the coordinator, the head physician, and an excellent team of doctors and embryologists, making us feel immediately at ease, as if we were at home, and continuously supporting us from a psychological point of view.
Thanks to the skill of the head doctor and his team who succeeded in what was a real miracle, given that all attempts in Italy were in vain, we have finally had our little Nathan in our arms for almost three years and we can only thank Sanatorium Helios infinitely for the gift it has given us and recommend this facility to all those people who, like us, were almost resigned to the idea of not having children any more.

Quando, dopo tanti anni di tentativi infruttuosi in Italia, il mio ginecologo mi ha consigliato di fare l’ultimo tentativo in una clinica della Repubblica Ceca, il Sanatorium Helios, io e marito ci siamo guardati negli occhi e ci siamo detti “perché non provare?”.
Ci siamo messi in contatto con la referente del Sanatorium Helios in Italia ed abbiamo conosciuto una persona professionale, gentile e premurosa, che oggi è diventata anche un’amica e una persona di famiglia, la quale ci ha illustrato in maniera puntuale e precisa le varie possibilità e le relative probabilità di successo.
Essendo rimasti entusiasti per le spiegazioni ricevute, abbiamo deciso di iniziare questa avventura e pertanto abbiamo avuto il nostro primo colloquio su Skype con la coordinatrice che parlava benissimo italiano e il primario della Clinica, il quale con grande professionalità e pazienza ha risposto a tutte le nostre domande e dubbi, trasmettendoci ottimismo sulla riuscita del percorso.
Ma ci siamo resi veramente conto di aver fatto la scelta giusta, nonostante la distanza, quando siamo arrivati in clinica dove siamo stati accolti con grande professionalità e gentilezza dalla coordinatrice, dal primario e da un eccellente equipe di medici e embriologi facendoci sentire subito a nostro agio, come se fossimo a casa e supportandoci continuamente da un punto di vista psicologico.
Grazie alla bravura del primario e della sua equipe che è riuscito in quello che è stato un vero e proprio miracolo, posto che tutti i tentativi effettuati in Italia sono risultati vani, finalmente abbiamo tra la braccia da quasi tre anni il nostro piccolo Nathan e non possiamo che ringraziare infinitamente il Sanatorium Helios per il regalo che ci ha fatto e consigliare questa struttura a tutte le persone che come noi erano ormai quasi rassegnate all’idea di non avere più figli.
